About the Company

The National Lottery Community Fund is the UK’s largest community funder, supporting grassroots organisations and major initiatives that improve lives across the country. Through programmes like Young Start, it channels dormant assets to empower young people aged 8 to 25 through youth-led projects.

About the Opportunity

This permanent Communications Officer role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how the Fund communicates the impact of its dormant assets funding. You’ll lead on media engagement, create compelling stories featuring young people, and produce content across press, digital and social media.

You’ll:

Manage announcements, events, and stakeholder communications
Produce creative content and annual reports
Build relationships with media and young project participants
Work within a newly restructured Communications Directorate
Gain valuable experience in public communications, storytelling, and media strategy in the charity and public funding space

What We’re Looking For

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience delivering integrated communications across platforms
Ability to manage varied workloads and deadlines
Confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including young people
Background in press/media, digital content, or campaign communications
(Desirable) Understanding of Scottish policy and media context
(Desirable) Interest in youth empowerment and social impact storytelling
