This critical national security programme involves delivering cutting-edge nuclear submarine capabilities and advanced engineering solutions.

About the Opportunity

The Defence STEM Undergraduate Sponsorship (DSUS) offers STEM undergraduates financial support for tuition fees, a yearly bursary, and a paid 45-day summer work placement with real Defence projects. This scheme provides practical experience, insight into MOD operations, and a pathway to permanent employment within Navy Command’s engineering profession after graduation. You’ll engage with industry-leading nuclear technology and contribute to the safety and maintenance of the UK’s nuclear submarine fleet.

What We’re Looking For

Current UK undergraduate student studying a STEM degree related to:
Chemical, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering or Science
Computational Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
Material Engineering, Analytical Science, Safety Engineering & Management, Health Physics
Expected to graduate by 2028 with minimum 2:2 (Hons) degree
UK National able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance
Commitment to a minimum 3-year MOD career post-graduation
Willingness to complete a 45-day paid summer placement with MOD projects
