About the Company

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is the principal prosecuting authority for England and Wales, responsible for delivering justice through the effective and independent prosecution of crime. With over 7,000 employees, the CPS plays a crucial role in supporting victims, witnesses, and the public, working closely with the police and criminal justice partners across 14 regional teams.

About the Opportunity

This is an ideal entry point into public service for those interested in law and justice. As a Casework Assistant, you’ll provide essential support to prosecutors by preparing case files, serving documents, and handling enquiries. You’ll gain invaluable first-hand insight into the criminal justice system and contribute directly to delivering justice. With full training, clear progression paths, and structured development support, this role offers a solid foundation for a long-term legal career within government service.

£23,800–£27,500 salary + Civil Service pension (28.97% employer contribution)

What We’re Looking For

Aged 18 or over
Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills
Familiarity with Microsoft 365
Interest in law, public service, or the criminal justice system
Customer service experience (desirable, not required)
No prior legal qualifications or experience necessary – full training provided
