We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic business intelligence analyst to join the Strategic Research Team in Business Intelligence at Warwickshire County Council.
About the Team and the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Business Intelligence team that provides a critical function to the council, ensuring that we can make evidence-based decisions, can understand what we are doing well and where we can do better. The role will help to deliver the team’s work programme through the analysis, interpretation and innovative reporting of both contextual and service data. You will be fundamental to ensuring that senior management and commissioners have the best intelligence available to them to support decision making and service delivery, allowing the effective targeting of resources within a challenging financial environment.
The successful candidate will be based in the Strategic Research team which is part of the Business Intelligence function. The Business Intelligence Analyst’s role will be varied and involve providing solutions to collecting, analysing, interpreting and presenting data from a number of areas across Warwickshire County Council with a focus on supporting services based in our Communities Directorate. The role will involve
- Using a range of tools and techniques to interpret and report on local and national datasets and published research to support the development of evidence-based corporate strategies, policies and prioritised change activity.
- Designing and building PowerBI dashboards to enable teams and elected members to understand complex data
- Supporting delivery of the Council Plan through participation in project groups and the provision of relevant data analysis and reporting.
- Providing support to consultation, engagement and user research activity including the design and build of surveys, and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative responses.
You’ll find there is a varied workload with opportunities to work with colleagues from across the organisation on current and important issues. In addition to underpinning the day-to-day operation of council services there is a need to be agile and react to the ever-changing external environment. In recent years the service has been involved in reporting for COVID-19, informing the local Levelling Up agenda, supporting work addressing the cost-of-living crisis, handling Homes for Ukraine data and providing evidence for economic recovery?strategies.

You will have access to the technology and the data you’ll need to do the best job possible; we use the Microsoft suite of tools and subscribe to a number of datasets that allow us to provide the insight required to support evidence-based practice. Training is provided where necessary and proactive learning and development positively encouraged.
You will also have some flexibility around where and when you work, including time at our Shire Hall offices in the heart of Warwick. These offices have recently been reconfigured to allow both face-to-face collaboration and virtual working, providing an excellent working environment.
