Warwickshire County Council is seeking to employ a Waste Compliance Officer based in our high performing Commercial and Contracts Service in Finance. The successful candidate will work with our waste services suppliers ensuring the accuracy of waste management data and financial billing, you will investigate and identify the cause of any discrepancies and manage the administration of invoices.
Working in a dynamic and detail-orientated environment, you will need to be well organised with a positive attitude and can adapt to changing workloads and consistently deliver to fixed deadlines. You will be an independent self-starter who can take ownership and prioritise your own workload and demonstrate sound, practical initiative. You will also be a team player and work in collaboration with colleagues, suppliers and other Local Council officers.
You will need good computer literacy and keyboard skills and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office products, such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel. You should also be good with numerical data (including data analysis) and general mathematics and be able to use Microsoft Excel functions (alongside the use of other applications) to optimise your productivity and capacity. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively and politely in verbal and written forms.
There will be times when the successful candidate will handle and respond to telephone queries from members of the public, elected members, suppliers and other local authority staff, which will require the candidate to be customer focused and focus on solutions to support the delivery of key services to the people and places of Warwickshire.
