We are looking for a passionate and proactive Residential Development Officer to join our Learning and Development team. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality training and development initiatives for our Children’s Home Residential Services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of workforce strategies.
- Design and deliver blended learning interventions tailored to residential childcare.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external training providers to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and compliance with Ofsted and health & safety standards.
- Manage projects and contribute to the Learning and Development Annual Service Plan.
- Provide expert advice on workforce development and training design.
We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
About you:
We’re seeking someone with:
- A relevant qualification in training, learning & development, or residential childcare (Level 4/5 QCF or equivalent).
- Experience in delivering learning and development projects, ideally within residential childcare.
- Strong understanding of blended learning and the needs of children in care.
- Excellent communication, planning, and presentation skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
