About the Opportunity

As a Persian Language Specialist, you’ll use your linguistic and cultural expertise to support critical intelligence work at the heart of national security. This role goes beyond translation—it involves analysing material, interpreting nuance, and helping to drive real-time operations. You’ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team at MI5, MI6, or GCHQ, with the chance to shape investigations, support operational planning, and gain exposure to technology, intelligence, and policy.

What We’re Looking For

C1-level proficiency in Persian (all forms) and strong written English
Deep knowledge of Iranian culture, politics, religion, and history
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Excellent people skills, judgement, and collaborative mindset
Interest in technology is a plus (especially at GCHQ)
Must be a British citizen or dual-national and pass security vetting
Willing to work in London, Cheltenham, or Manchester (role is office-based)
