Join CoventryLive as a Local Democracy Reporter, covering Coventry Council and key political developments that impact local communities. You'll be at the forefront of holding politicians to account, breaking public interest stories, and bringing council decisions to light. Backed by the BBC and a network of 165 reporters across the UK, you’ll benefit from national exposure, development programmes, and editorial support.
Salary:
- £24,024 (non-NCTJ qualified)
- £25,662 (NCTJ qualified)
- £32,760 (NQJ/senior equivalent)

What We're Looking For
- NCTJ (or equivalent) journalism qualification, or working towards it
- Strong interest in local government and political reporting
- Ability to identify and report compelling public interest stories
- Experience covering councils or public sector (preferred)
- Strong writing, research, and social media engagement skills
- Based in or around Coventry (essential)
