About the Opportunity

The Detective Constable Degree Holder Entry Programme (DCDHEP) is a full-time, salaried training route for graduates aspiring to become Detectives. You’ll be employed as a police officer from day one, earning £29,907 rising to £48,231 over seven years, while completing a fully funded two-year Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing.

Your first year combines frontline experience and classroom learning; your second year is tailored to detective work across specialist teams such as Homicide, Organised Crime, and Public Protection. Upon completion, you’ll be a fully qualified Detective with further options to specialise in areas like Counter Terrorism or Serious Fraud.

What We’re Looking For

A UK-recognised degree (Level 6 or above in any subject)
UK resident for the last 3 years
British, Irish, or EEA national (or unrestricted right to work in the UK)
Able to complete the bleep test to level 5.4
Willingness to work a 24/7 shift pattern and complete independent study
