Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistants required

£95 - £110 per day
Veritas Education work with a variety of primary, secondary, and SEN schools across London and the surrounding areas, providing high-quality teachers and support staff for long-term, short-term, permanent, and daily supply roles. We partner with state, private, and independent schools, building strong, trusted relationships with our clients.
We are currently looking for strong Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistants for primary and secondary schools across North and East London for roles beginning asap and September 2025. Roles are full time, long term, term-time only (8.30am-4pm). Ideally you will already have some experience working with children and young people, or you may be considering furthering your career in education. Maybe you are taking a year out before doing your Masters or a PGCE?
Responsibilities for Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant include:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting classroom learning.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, including those with SEN, helping to reinforce learning.
- Support the development of students' academic skills and personal development, fostering social and emotional growth.
- Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Prepare and organize teaching resources to support lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to track student progress and implement learning strategies.
About you:
- Educated to degree level in any humanitie subject area including English language and literature, modern languages, history, philosophy, religious studies, classics, and art history
- Have previous experience within a school or other child related experience.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and a professional and friendly approach.
- Have knowledge and experience supporting children within special educational needs.
- School based experience preferred but not essential.
