Mondays: 3pm - 7pm
Wednesdays: 3pm - 7pm
Saturdays: 9am - 4pm

Salary:
Self-employed sessional role.
up to £16.95 per hour (depending on age and qualification level).

Base 25 is a Wolverhampton based charity with over 25 years experience of supporting children, young people and their families.
About the role.
We are seeking two Group Work Facilitators to engage with children and young people aged 3–18, and their families. Ideal candidates will possess emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and the ability to plan and deliver group sessions effectively. They should be confident in using technology to enhance group work delivery and provide short-term support tailored to the presenting needs of participants. While the role primarily focuses on group facilitation, it may also involve individual sessions and collaboration with other professionals, including parents and external agencies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive attitudes in children and young people towards emotional health and wellbeing.
- Develop and co-deliver group structured emotional health and wellbeing programmes and have oversight and record of the young person’s progress.
- Work with young people, in small to medium size groups, to encourage them to maximise their potential through a range of strategies and support programmes, e.g. use strategies which: Develop self-help skills, increase their understanding of anxiety, self-harm, relationships and communication, develop self-reliance and self-worth, improve low moods and improve behaviours.
- Draw up action plans, set regular targets and actions and monitor the outcomes – thereby evaluating progress towards a more positive approach to their emotional health and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of action plans and evidence of young person's progress.
- Encouraging young people to evaluate their progress and provide access to skills for personal development.
- Constantly challenge clients to remain motivated and focused.
- Offer Information, Advice or Guidance to Individuals (IAG) as required.
Candidate requirements.
Essential:
- A minimum of 1 years experience in Youth work, Coaching, Mentoring, Counselling or Mental Health support worker.
- Experience and/or training in delivering group work to young people.
- Awareness of Safeguarding responsibilities regarding Children and Young People and adults.
- The ability to work with Children, Young People and their parents/carers.
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence.
- A secure knowledge, and understanding of CBT, Mindfulness humanistic therapy, young person mental health first aid.
- Experience of working with managing/ assessing risk.
- Confident with technology and online video conferencing e.g. google meet Skype or Zoom
Highly desirable:
- An understanding of local services and referral pathways.
- Experience of working with Google drive.
- Some knowledge of SEND and social care (CIN, CP, etc).
