Rood End Primary is a 2-form entry primary school in Oldbury. We believe that our children and their families deserve the very best and, with determination and dedication, strive to provide this every day.
The Senior Leadership Team of Rood End Primary School are looking to appoint a new School Secretary. The successful candidate should be hardworking, enthusiastic, well-organised and self-motivated. The appointed person will be expected to work in our very busy office with our School Administrator.
The successful candidate will:
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure the school office provides a welcoming and friendly environment for our Rood End Community.
- Be a role model for our pupils and other staff.
- Manage daily office operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
- Supervise administrative staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Will oversee some human resources functions, including absences.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using the school’s various management information Systems.
- Coordinate school supplies and equipment procurement, ensuring availability for all staff members.
- Implement organisational systems to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
- Handle phone etiquette with professionalism, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with team members, fostering collaboration and a positive workplace culture.
- Have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and have strong organisational skills.
- Have excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.
- Be proficient in clerical duties, including data entry and document management.
- Be familiar with school’s management information systems including Arbor and Access education (would be advantageous but not essential).
- Work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when required.
- Have strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Have excellent communication, IT, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Be willing to go the extra mile.
You will need to be educated to GCSE Grade C in English and Maths and have some experience in customer care.

HOURS: 37 hours per week, Term Time plus 5 training days
GRADE: Band D, SCP 9 - 17, £26,409 - £30,060 (Actual Salary £23,565 - £27,516 p.a.)
