We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, hardworking and dedicated subject lead who will play a significant role in the further development of our reading and writing curriculum.

Rood End Primary is a 2-form entry primary school situated in Oldbury.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring our children have the very best start to their education and who shares our very high expectations of children’s learning, achievement and behaviour. You will be able to demonstrate that you are an experienced and inspirational classroom practitioner who can motivate pupils and colleagues with strong leadership skills and that you are committed to working in partnership with pupils, parents, governors and the wider community.
The post is not suitable for ECT’s.
We are looking for somebody who has:
- An outstanding track record in teaching and raising standards for our children - someone who wants the very best for our children
- A passion for English and a desire to enthuse and engage children within the subject
- A strong subject knowledge of the English Curriculum including the teaching of Reading (some knowledge of phonics is desirable but not essential)
- The ability to lead, support and develop a team of staff
- The potential to be a proactive member of the Leadership Team
- Great communication skills and an ability to work effectively as a team member
- Commitment and an excellent work ethic
- The motivation to develop further as a professional and take initiative
