About the Opportunity
The Digital Helpdesk Support Level 6 Apprenticeship offers an 18-month, full-time, paid training role based in Edinburgh. As part of a small IT team, you’ll provide first-line helpdesk support across a mixed software environment, with a primary focus on Windows. You’ll gain hands-on experience while completing a SCQF Level 6 qualification, supported by training provider QA and STFC’s expert apprenticeship team. This opportunity combines technical development with access to sports, social groups, and potential overseas placements, all within a world-renowned research setting.
What We’re Looking For
- Achieved/predicted two National 5s at Grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths
- Enthusiasm for IT with examples of personal, academic, or work-based computing projects
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of PC/Mac hardware
- Familiarity with Microsoft Desktop Products
- Experience with Windows and/or MacOS operating systems
- Note: Applicants must meet apprenticeship eligibility criteria and complete an initial assessment with the training provider.
