About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of two DfE programmes as a User Researcher:

Children and Families Portfolio – working on reforms in early years and children’s social care.
School Operations & Estates Services – helping shape digital tools for safer, more effective school environments.

You’ll lead user research within multi-disciplinary teams, informing the design of services that make a measurable difference. You’ll benefit from generous pension contributions, hybrid working, 25+ days holiday, and career development through a strong research community.

Salary: £41,458 (or £45,492 in London)
Contract: Permanent

What We’re Looking For

Experience planning and conducting user research in a digital product or service environment
Ability to analyse and synthesise both qualitative and quantitative data
Experience engaging with a wide range of users, including harder-to-reach groups
Awareness of research ethics and safeguarding practices
Ability to lead research activity and influence design decisions within teams
