About the Opportunity

This is an exciting permanent role for an Assistant Econometrician to apply quantitative and econometric techniques on large-scale investigations across the CMA’s diverse case portfolio. You’ll join a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team delivering robust economic analysis, while benefiting from structured training and professional development opportunities. With a clear pathway for progression, this role offers early career candidates the chance to build deep technical expertise and make a real impact in public service.

Salary: £38,085 – £42,505 plus Civil Service pension (28.97% employer contribution)

What We're Looking For

Postgraduate degree in economics (focus on quantitative methods/econometrics preferred); final-year students graduating by Sept 2025 considered
Proficiency in R or Stata
Experience in designing and delivering quantitative economic analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work effectively in teams and manage professional relationships
