Catering Assistant – Central Trust

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (10 am – 2.30 pm), Term Time Only
Salary: Support Staff Scale Grade 2 (Fixed at point 3), £24,027 FTE (£13,094 pro-rata).

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible person with an excellent approach to customer service, to provide assistance with general kitchen duties. This role also includes handling deliveries on a daily basis from suppliers and lifting and moving heavy items into storerooms.
Purpose of Role:
To assist the Head Chef with the preparation and service of school meals and beverages to an excellent standard, and to provide a professional impression to all visitors, parents, pupils and staff. In addition, as a member of the catering staff, to undertake a range of duties within the kitchen and any ancillary duties to support the operation of the school.
- Working with the Head Chef to ensure deliveries are checked and correctly stored.
- Work with the team of staff to assist with the food preparation for the pupil’s meals.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the pupils to promote healthy eating.
- Assist with the cleaning and clearing after each sitting.
- Other duties reasonable to assist the smooth operation of the Canteen.

The Oaklands Primary School is a two-form entry Primary school in Acock’s Green Birmingham.
