Are you someone who enjoys working with young people and thrives in a busy, supportive school environment?
Wolgarston High School is looking for a full-time Cover Supervisor to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in education who’s ready to take on a varied and rewarding role.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be stepping into classrooms when teachers are absent, helping to keep learning on track by delivering pre-set work and maintaining a positive, focused atmosphere. You’ll be supported by our teaching and senior staff, and you’ll play a key role in ensuring continuity for our students.
You’ll also be involved in coordinating daily cover arrangements, supporting supply staff, and helping to manage pupil behaviour in line with our school policies. It’s a role that requires confidence, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed.
We’re looking for someone with at least three years’ experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally with an NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or an equivalent qualification. You’ll need to be confident using ICT, have a good understanding of classroom practice, and be ready to take initiative while working as part of a team.
At Wolgarston, we’re proud of our inclusive and welcoming school community. We offer a supportive working environment, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you. For more information or to arrange an informal visit to the school please contact Ranjit Heer (Office Manager) r-heer@penkvalley.co.uk to arrange a call or visit.

Being part of Penk Valley Academy Trust:
Penk Valley Academy Trust is the local academy Trust for the following schools: Marshbrook First School, Princefield First School, St John’s First School, St Mary & St Chad CE First School, Penkridge Middle School, Wolgarston High School and The Rural Enterprise Academy.
The Trust’s vision and ethos is encapsulated in our motto ‘Learning Together’. Our main aim is to work collaboratively and take collective responsibility for ensuring that every child and young person in our Trust receives an excellent education, achieves high outcomes and realises their potential. All members of staff work incredibly hard to provide the very best education for every child in our care.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and responsibility. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
All staff working in the School during the school day will have contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
