Browns Food Group is now one of the UK’s leading suppliers of protein products, operating from 8 manufacturing sites and additional storage locations across the UK. This is an exciting new opportunity for a graduate who will assist with environmental and sustainability goals.
Key responsibilities include :
-Drive the Group’s values, ethics and sustainability strategy.
-Drive the Group’s CSR programme.
-Assist with the Group’s relationship with external partners such as, local council’s, Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and Scottish water.
-Ensure that all environmental regulatory and compliance standards are met.
-Drive improvements in environmental and sustainability across all sites.
-Supporting development of strong culture for Group environmental awareness through employee engagement.
-Sustain and improve environmental procedures.
-Assist with improvement projects and implementation plans for energy and water optimisation, carbon reduction, general efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and climate change mitigation.
-Monitor current fuel, electricity, water, wastewater, recycling, and disposal costs, develop additional, and lead current energy, carbon, water, and waste key performance indicators and report on benchmarks.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to communicate to all levels
-Strong project management skills with ability to lead various diverse projects, on differing timelines
-Capability to consider change management implications from a multi-site perspective
-A degree in environmental management, engineering, or equivalent experience across a range of technical/ operational / environmental roles including process operations, engineering, and project management
This role is based at our Head Office in Kirkconnel 3 days per week, with flexibility to work at other Group sites 2 days per week.
