The Graduate Quantity Surveyor will work as part of the Business Unit commercial team to provide general Quantity Surveying services for projects, along with tendering support as required. This role involves regular collaboration with a dedicated Quantity Surveyor, and interaction with Operations, Finance, and Engineering departments. The Graduate Quantity Surveyor will also work directly with local project sites and Project/Site Managers to ensure optimal project delivery.
The jobholder will contribute to the continuous development of the role through flexibility, adaptability, and a determination to meet demanding performance objectives, ensuring all KPIs are attained.
Responsibilities and duties
Including but not limited to:
- Assisting in understanding clients' requirements
- Assisting in preparing monthly management reports
- Understanding and applying health and safety regulations
- Allocating work to subcontractors
- Assisting in arranging payments for completed work
- Preparing tender and contract documents
- Writing reports
- Procuring subcontractors and supporting the Quantity Surveyor in preparation of contract documents
- Supporting the Quantity Surveyor in preparation of initial project budgets and maintaining them throughout the project lifecycle
- Assisting in the preparation and agreement of variations for civil and electrical works with clients
- Supporting the preparation of valuation claims based on the Activity Schedules established at Contract Award
- Maintaining a detailed measure of works completed on an ongoing basis
- Applying commercial awareness to optimise cash flow when structuring milestone payments
- Supporting timely submission of cost/value reconciliations
- Managing subcontractor valuations and associated payments in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor
- Maintaining accurate cost reporting systems and projections
- Completing internal monthly cost forecasting and project reviews
- Using company IT systems efficiently for document control across Omexom, clients, designers, and subcontractors

The jobholder must be a commercially focused self-starter with enthusiasm, motivation, and initiative.
Required:
- Degree-qualified with an RICS-accredited degree in a relevant subject (e.g., BSc in Quantity Surveying and Cost Management)
