About the Opportunity
The FT Newsroom Apprenticeship is an 18-month, paid training programme offering a pathway into journalism for individuals without a university degree, with a focus on those from underrepresented backgrounds. You'll gain an industry-recognised NCTJ Level 5 qualification while training with both the Manchester Evening News and the Financial Times. The programme includes placements in London and Manchester, mentorship from FT journalists, and development through real newsroom experience, laying the foundation for a dynamic career in news media.

What We’re Looking For
- Aged 18+ by 1 September 2025
- No university degree or pending university application
- Good Level 3 qualifications (e.g. A-levels, BTECs, T Levels)
- GCSE Grade 5 in Maths and 7 in English Language
- Right to work in the UK

- Strong writing and communication skills
- Hard-working, resilient, and eager to learn
- Willing to live and work in both London and Manchester
