The Faculty of Science and Health has a varied portfolio of industry and professional practice focused programmes.
The Department of Early Education and Social Studies within the Faculty of Science and Health seeks applications in the following area and appointments to form a panel, that arise, may be filled on a Permanent Whole Time, Fixed Term or Hourly Paid Assistant Lecturer basis (HPAL) as required:
Various modes of programmes delivery may apply.
The lecturer will join an enthusiastic team engaging in collaborative learning on other shared modules across the range of disciplines. The appointee will have significant knowledge and experience of the Early Childhood sector in the Republic of Ireland.
Pedagogic staff development is encouraged and cognate qualification progression is also supported.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum
- An Honours degree (2.2 or higher) in Early Childhood at Level 8 degree as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
- At least three years recent and relevant post graduate experience, i.e. 3 years relevant experience, in an Early Childhood setting, having gained the qualifications above.
Desirable
- A Post-graduate or Master’s degree in a relevant area
- Experience in the development of new programmes and curricular development
- Experience of lecturing and/or practice in a 3rd level environment in one of the following:
Early Childhood
Placement Visits or Co-Ordination
- Professional membership of a relevant professional body
- Relevant teaching and research experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in teams
- Relevant CPD in Early Childhood
€46,140 to €62,479 pro rata if applicable
