A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Design Engineer to join a multinational manufacturer of precision-engineered mechanical and electrical equipment, supporting projects across the renewable energy and oil & gas industries.

Based near York in North Yorkshire, this role is ideal for ambitious mechanical graduates with a placement or any hands-on experience who want to develop their career in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment. You’ll be developing designs, conducting analyses and providing recommendations for new and existing production.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting the design and development of mechanical components using CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor or similar).
Producing accurate engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Collaborating across departments (procurement, production, assembly) to ensure design feasibility.
Participating in prototype testing and performance evaluations.
Engaging with customers and suppliers to solve technical challenges.
Ensuring all designs comply with quality and regulatory standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
Contributing to a safety-first culture and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Ideally a 2.1 or 1st Class MEng or BEng.
Some practical or placement experience in a design, engineering, or manufacturing setting.
Confidence using CAD software (Inventor preferred, but others welcome).
Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
A strong team player with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Enthusiasm to learn, grow, and take on real responsibility.
