The Faculty of Engineering & Technology has a varied portfolio of industry and professional practice focused programmes.
The Department of Computing within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology seeks applications in the following areas that may be appointed on a permanent full-time capacity:
- Computing or Cognate Area
Delivery will normally be on campus and, as a condition of employment, successful candidates will be expected to be available to teach on campus.
The post may include elements of project-based and blended learning, with online learning by agreement.
The lecturer will join an enthusiastic team engaging in collaborative learning on other shared modules across the range of disciplines.
Pedagogic staff development is encouraged, and cognate qualification progression is also supported.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum
- An HonoursDegree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 degree[as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent in Computing or a cognate area.
- Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
Desirable
The ideal candidate will have practical experience in a number of the following areas:
- A postgraduate qualification preferably at PhD level
- Evidence of ongoing skills development
- Strong industry leadership experience
- Experience in IT Infrastructure Management
- Operations Management in an IT environment
- IT Change Management and Project Management
- Managing large software engineering projects
- Managing large IT healthcare projects
- Third level teaching experience (online and face to face)
- Flexible and adaptable
- Ability to teach effectively
- Good communication skills, organisational skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
