About the Company
The Home Office is responsible for keeping the UK safe and secure, tackling issues from counter-terrorism and policing to immigration and crime. Its Immigration Enforcement (IE) unit disrupts and dismantles organised crime groups exploiting immigration systems, with its Criminal and Financial Investigation (CFI) teams leading investigations, asset seizures, and cross-agency operations.
About the Opportunity
As a Criminal Investigator, you’ll lead and support investigations into serious and organised immigration crime, from arrest and search operations to evidence gathering, financial investigation, and court appearances. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role demanding quick decision-making, sound judgment, and physical resilience. You’ll receive full structured training and mentoring to build your investigative capability, plus a minimum 30% salary allowance for shift work and out-of-hours duties.
What We’re Looking For
- Full PIP Level 2 accreditation (mandatory)
- Full UK driving licence (manual or automatic)
- Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Strong ethics, resilience, and ability to handle pressure
- Confident communicator and detailed organiser
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Desirable: experience with POCA, surveillance, or digital forensics
