Job Title: Team Leader, Family Connect
Salary: £41,511- 44,711 per annum
37 Hours per Week
Location: Wildwood, Worcester (Hybrid working arrangement)
Team: Family connect (part of the family front door)
Permanent
The Role:
As part of the Social Care reforms, we are further developing our Children’s Family Front Door to not only support the great work we already do, but to also develop this further; helping families access the right help and support at the right time, reducing their anxiety about being referred to children’s social care and preventing them from escalating into crisis or needing more acute services later on . This goes to the heart of what we want to achieve for our Worcestershire families enabling them to stay together and thrive within their own communities accessing the right help and support at the right time.
Family Connect will play a key role for families and children’s services helping families who do not need children’s services intervention and support to access community services and support at level 1& 2 (and potentially level 3 needs). Preventing them falling through the gap and not getting help and support when they need it and later on needing more acute or crisis support. Family Connect will also lead on information sharing with partners in line with Working Together 2023 and partnership agreements on requests of information and manage the early help in the community portal (in EHM).
The team will work closely with the other teams and pods both within the Family Front Door service area and the three new district Family Help teams. The management and leadership of the team will be led by two Team Leaders and there will be two full time equivalent Advanced Social Work Practitioner (ASWP) posts within the team.
As part of our design and implementation of the social care reforms we are pleased to be able to develop and offer this new role to our children’s social care workforce.
We currently envisage that as a team leader you will take a lead role in managing and developing the family connect team working alongside the ASWP’s in the team to support and supervise non-social work qualified colleagues in the team and carry out decision making on partnership “information sharing”, providing advice and guidance on safeguarding child and adult issues. This will involve having oversight of the allocation and throughput of work in the team, and timely decision making on a range of work at this level of need e.g. requests for information.
As team leader you will work closely with partner agencies, colleagues at the family front door and other stakeholders in the community to deliver safe and appropriate services to children and their families; supporting positive outcomes and reducing needs, risk and vulnerability wherever possible.
We are seeking skilled and experienced leader who has experience of managing, coaching and developing staff members and able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of safeguarding and the application of the levels of need; ensuring that families receive the right support at the right time.
This new family connect team will bring together a range of children’s services staff who are very skilled and experienced in this work and will provide you with a great opportunity to influence the design and development of this new service.
For an informal conversation please speak to Group Manager: Charmaine Anderson.
