About the Opportunity
As a Communications Infrastructure Technician, you’ll install and maintain fibre optics, data cables, antenna masts, and radome structures—keeping the RAF’s digital ecosystem connected and mission-ready. From working at height to fault-finding in secure operations rooms, this role combines physical challenge with cutting-edge tech. You'll receive fully funded training, a Level 3 Network Cable Installer apprenticeship, and gain qualifications recognised across civilian industries. What We’re Looking For
- Aged 16–47 (must attest before 48th birthday)
- GCSEs at grade C/4 in English Language and Maths (or Scottish National 5 equivalent)
- Pass Defence Aptitude Assessment and fitness test
- Complete a climbing aptitude test at RAF Digby
- Commit to a minimum of 3 years post-training
- Meet nationality, residency, health, and security clearance criteria
