About the Opportunity
As an HR Officer, you’ll join MI5’s mission-critical HR Services team, supporting colleagues across MI5, MI6, and GCHQ from either London or Cheltenham. You'll handle a wide variety of tasks—from managing HR queries and payroll updates to guiding staff through internal policies. You’ll gain hands-on experience across key HR functions, with structured development opportunities, dedicated mentoring, and access to internal/external training. This is a permanent, full-time office-based role with flexible working options (e.g. part-time, compressed hours), and a competitive salary and benefits package.
What We’re Looking For
- Associate Level CIPD or CIPP qualification or 1+ year HR experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- Confident working with data and HR systems (training provided)
- Proactive, organised, and adaptable team player
- Eligible for UK Developed Vetting (must be a British citizen or dual national)
- Willing to remain in HR for a minimum of 4 years
