We offer a wide range of career opportunities at every level of the organisation. From apprenticeships to senior management, permanent to fixed term contracts or part-time working, we have something for everyone.
Are you passionate about environmental health and eager to make a difference? If so, we have a vacancy for an Environmental Protection Officer in our Environmental Protection team, which has responsibilities for matters such as pollution control, statutory nuisances, public health funerals, air quality, contaminated land, consultation on planning applications, and licensing applications as well as general public health related activities.
The post presents an ideal opportunity for a person who has an interest and knowledge of Environmental Health related work and has or wishes to develop practical experience of delivering front line environmental health duties.
Working with the support of more senior colleagues you will take responsibility for your own caseload. Undertaking investigations, compliance, and complaint inspections, providing advice and guidance to members of the public and other service users and partners.
You will have guidance and support from specialist officers whilst working within a team that places a high value on teamwork, customer focus, professionalism, responsibility, and creativity. Ultimately you will need to be able to work on your own initiative but will have the support of your team as required.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person to join our small but busy team. You must be competent with Microsoft Office and use of the internet and be an excellent communicator at all levels able to demonstrate ability to plan/prioritise and sequence multiple and potentially conflicting priorities.
You will also need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to undertake duties across the entire district.
We work flexibly in Warwick, and support working at home or flexible working patterns that enable you to tailor your working and personal life. We provide the equipment and tools to enable you to work flexibly, and in return ask you to use that flexibility to be creative and ambitious in the services we deliver.
You will be expected to be based in the office on at two days a week (Mon-Fri on a rota basis), attend meetings as required and be available for the occasional out of hours work, sometimes at the weekend to respond to complaints. (Approximately 10 times a year).
