About Us
The Civil Service is the UK Government’s impartial workforce, delivering vital public services across the country. Civil servants work in a wide range of roles, including issuing driving licences, running prisons, paying benefits, and developing and implementing government policy. Guided by the core values of integrity, honesty, objectivity, and impartiality, the Civil Service supports the government of the day while maintaining high standards and professionalism in everything it does.
For those at the start of their careers, the Civil Service offers several structured entry routes. These include the Fast Stream graduate programme, which develops future leaders through a variety of professional pathways, and apprenticeships at Levels 3 to 7 in areas such as digital, finance, and business administration. There's also a Summer Internship Programme and the Career Launch Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, launching summer 2025, offering hands-on experience, full-time employment, and clear progression opportunities.
